Recently I was fortunate enough to attend BCUHack on behalf of the Codio team. Codio was one of the headline sponsors for Birmingham City University's first hackathon. The "leap year" themed hackathon kicked off on Monday 29 February and ended 24 hours later on the 1 March.
It was an incredible event which showcased the potential of Codio to teach students Computing, even in a informal setting like a hackathon. Many teams used our preconfigured technology stacks and took advantage of our real-time collaboration features, which saved them hours of setup time and increased their efficiency. The response from students and staff was overwhelmingly positive.
Almost at the end of #BCUHack and 60% of the hackers have used Codio, a lot of web apps and back ends using #nodejs #python #ruby

Both the 1st and 2nd place teams built their winning applications using Codio. In future posts we will showcase some of the applications built with Codio and hear from the students who built them.
